What we collect and why
When you use the contact form on this site we collect your name, company, email address, optional phone number, selected enquiry type and your message. We also process the connection address observed by our server to protect the form against spam and abuse. We use this information to respond to your enquiry and keep the form secure. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in replying to people who contact us and protecting our service.
Where it goes
Our website hosting provider processes website traffic on our behalf. Form submissions are delivered to us by email through Brevo, our email service provider, acting as a processor. We do not sell your data or share it for marketing, and we will not add you to any mailing list unless you ask us to.
How long we keep it
Enquiry emails are kept for as long as the conversation is live and for a reasonable period afterwards for record keeping, then deleted. The private form limiter stores no message content or raw connection address. It uses a keyed pseudonymous client identifier and timestamps for 15-minute per-client and one-hour global rate-limit windows. Expired entries are ignored and may remain in private state until a later eligible request updates the limiter and removes them.
Cookies, advertising and analytics
This site sets no cookies unless you accept them. It uses fonts already available on your device, and all other website assets are served from our own hosting.
What we would like to set, and why
We use two Google services. Both are covered by the single choice on the cookie banner.
Google Ads conversion tracking (account AW-18402917678) tells us how many enquiries our advertising produces. If you accept, Google sets cookies in the _gcl_ family — typically _gcl_au, which lasts about 90 days — so that a click on one of our adverts can be matched to an enquiry submitted here later.
Google Analytics (property G-4DKX83N2PY) tells us how the site is used: which pages are visited, how long people spend on them, roughly which part of the world visitors are in, and what kind of device they are using. If you accept, Google sets cookies in the _ga family, which last up to two years. We use this to work out which pages are useful and which are not.
These are the only non-essential technologies on the site. We do not use them to build a profile of you, we do not sell or share the data for marketing, and we do not try to identify individual visitors.
Before you choose, and if you decline
Both tags are present on every page, but until you accept they run in a restricted mode that we set: they cannot read or write any cookie, and the identifier that links a visit to a particular advert is removed before anything is sent. In that state Google is told that a page was viewed, or that an enquiry was submitted, but not who by and not which advert it came from.
We are spelling this out because it is a change from how this site previously worked. A request is made to Google on each page view even if you decline, and that request carries your connection address. No cookies are set and nothing is stored on your device. If you decline, that restriction stays in place permanently.
If you accept after browsing a page or two, the advert identifier is carried along in the page address in the meantime, so the match can still be made. Declining costs you nothing and changes nothing about how the site works.
Your choice, and the lawful basis
Your choice is remembered in your browser’s local storage rather than in a cookie, so that declining genuinely leaves you with no cookies from this site. You can change your choice at any time, and you can clear it along with site data in your browser settings.
For the cookies, the lawful basis is your consent, under UK GDPR and regulation 6 of the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations. You may withdraw it at any time using the link above, and withdrawal takes effect immediately.
For the restricted, cookie-free measurement described above, the lawful basis is our legitimate interest in understanding whether our advertising works and how this site is used. You have the right to object to it — email us and we will deal with your objection. In practice, any standard content or tracker blocker will also stop it.
What Google does with it
Google Ireland Limited acts as a data controller in its own right for the data collected through these tags. Google’s own privacy notice is at policies.google.com/privacy, and its description of how it uses data from sites that use its services is at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. This may involve transfers outside the UK, which Google covers through its own transfer safeguards.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, delete it or stop processing it. Email us and we will act on it. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
